I have found that my learning gets enhanced through inclusive collaboration with people who approach questions in ways that have not occurred to me. We often have a “lightbulb moment” when we hear from someone else about a creative insight that helped solve a challenge or a problem. The stories are not always smooth – sometimes team members have to advocate persistently and loudly for others to recognize their unique points of view. I also share ideas for how we might cultivate habits of inclusive collaboration in our own workplaces that could lead us to creative insights.
